Ranging in diameter from 12 inches to 30 inches, these specialty piles can penetrate the ground to depths of up to 95 feet. ACIP piles are initiated by digging into the ground with a specialized auger bit. As the bit penetrates the ground, the substrate is forced up and out of the resulting drilled-shaft by the rotation of the auger. When the desired depth is reached, the auger is raised out of the hole. A grout mixture of sand, cement, water and additives, is simultaneously pumped into the auger hole. Pre-fabricated steel rebar cages are immediately lowered into the grouted hole and once cured, the ACIP is complete. Over the last 50 years, ACIP has been the pile of choice for installations that require minimum ground vibration, or disturbance of the immediate area. The SFI Deep Foundations Division has earned a reputation in the foundation industry of proven design-build ACIP services, competitive pricing, and excellent customer service.
